"I do really appreciate you all so much - you really helped me have  a birth I never would have had otherwise the best experience it  could've been. It was due to you I had a home birth at all, and now I'm  running a support group. Who would've thought it?!"

Elizabeths birth story - The coming of J.J.

133I really wanted to thank you ALL for giving me my perfect birth.  Your complete support of my wishes, and Amazon resolve in the face of some pretty crap odds (GDM, VBAC) enabled me to birth my baby in an almost fairytale way - I think what I'm really thanking you for is not so much the the positive experience of the birth itself (which was, of course, wonderful) - its more that I can finally lay the ghosts of my first awful birth to rest.  This morning, I had my family around me, and it felt so whole, and I really felt for the first time that I could stop worrying about how my first child  managed to get into the world, and just enjoy the fact that she did.  Thank you so much again - I still can't quite believe that I birthed my baby naturally (and then kicked up a fuss about how much the afterpains hurt!! - there's no pleasing some people...)  Anyway - hope you're all finally getting the rest you deserve - I managed a couple of hours sleep in the afternoon, then had a very excitable toddler jumping all over me wanting to get to know her baby brother a bit better.  Take care, and see you all soon!

I am writing to express mine and all the family’s sincere thanks for the care and support Essex Midwifery Practice gave during my pregnancy, birth and Olivers early days/weeks.  Even though it looked like my hopes of a VBAC at home in the pool were going out the window, I can look back and know that with all your support I was able to make informed decisions that were right for me in those circumstances.  I believe that due to all the decisions being made by me with your full support led me to delivering Oliver in confidence and leaving me with the whole hearted sense of fulfilment and achievement which in turn enabled me to embark on motherhood with Oliver without any misgivings – just with great joy and fond memories of his arrival in this world.

Thank you all for being true professionals and friends during this time.
